Novel Capping Agents for Nanomaterials
نویسنده
چکیده
Nanomaterials are of great scientific interest as they bridge the gap between bulk materials and atomic or molecular structures. Capping agents are biological or chemical components naturally restrict the reaction and the particle growth in the nanoparticles synthesis. The understanding of the effect of capping on nanoparticles is one of the most important topics now-a-day. Protein and peptides capping agents have been characterized by FTIR, SDS-PAGE and MALDI-TOF-MS. In this review we are attempting to address main function of capping agents and how this may cause noticeable improvement of efficiency of nanoparticles and materials.

متن کاملRecent Developments in Shape-Controlled Synthesis of Silver Nanocrystals.
This feature article introduces our recent work on understanding the roles played by citrate and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) as capping agents in seed-mediated syntheses of Ag nanocrystals with controlled shapes. We have demonstrated that citrate and PVP selectively bind to Ag(111) and Ag(100) surfaces, respectively, and thus favor the formation of Ag nanocrystals enclosed preferentially by {...

Growth of wurtzite ZnO nanorods using different capping agents: Characterization, morphology, and investigation the catalytic activity in some oxindoles and indolyl organics
ZnO nanorods have been prepared through chemical deposition of Zn(OAc)2.2H2O by employing different capping agents, (PEG, MW=2000 and PEG, MW=5000). The fabricated catalyst was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) images and XRD pattern. The results show the one dimensional growth of ZnO nano-rods. The results show that capping agents can control the shape and growth of nano-size...
متن کاملActivation Strategies for Enhancement the Catalytic Activity of Gold Nanocatalysts
Recent advances in nanoscience have led to the development of numerous methodologiesfor controlled synthesis of mono dispersed nanoparticles and/or nanoclusters via surface stabilization by organic capping ligands. The application of these nanoparticles in catalysis and other fields often requires the removal of organic ligands. It is known that the removal of organic capping agents or or...
